Together At Last!

Our family was blessed to meet Isaiah Zion Christopher and bring him into our family on March 5, 2011. We are calling him Zion, his original name, to keep some continuity for him.
This is a picture of Zion and Tina's first hug when we went to bring him home from the "care family's" house. Amazingly, Zion seemed to identify her as "Mommy" from that moment on. He's been wonderfully at peace in our family, especially in Tina's embrace.

He is a delightful one year old boy with plenty of smiles and wonderfully "squishy" hugs that just melt in your arms and melt your heart in the process.

He's also got lots of energy. He's in constant motion, surfing along the edges of the furniture, or crawling across the living room in search of new adventures.

The children are all having a great time playing together and learning what it's like to have another little brother around. They love to make their little brother laugh; plenty of tickles, zerberts, and "aaahhhh-boooo's" to go around.
The children have truly fallen in love with their new little brother, and he with them. Both Noel and Simeon have already have assisted with a few diaper changes (yes... stinky ones!). Are we blessed with a great family or what?

Zion has met most of our extended family and friends now. He's been the star of the show. Those who have prayed and supported our family through this adoption process are sharing our joy in seeing God's new miracle. Zion has been welcomed by all who meet him. Friends at home are already planning a "Welcome Home Zion" party to celebrate his adoption into our family. Zion is constantly turning heads in the grocery store, Walmart and resturaunts with his cute smiles, bright eyes, and chubby cheeks. We enjoy being out with him. Just the other night, Simeon asked if we could go "hang out at the mall" as a family. He's a proud big brother. And not only him; we are all enjoying establishing a new public identity as "Zion's family".

Zion has truly brought so many blessings into our family, most of which can't be photographed or described in words. He is truly a joy. From his beaming smile when we first pick him up out of his crib in the morning, to his "squishy hugs" at the end of the day as we sing over him before laying him down for the night, it's obvious that Zion is peaceful in his new home. He is happy to be part of our family, and we don't know how to say thank you to God for the blessing he is to us. Nonetheless, here are a few pictures that made the "highlight reel" from our first month with Zion (trips to the park, bath time, horse riding lessons, and grandparents):
